Mission Statement

“...You have been estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.” (Galatians 5:4)

The True Doctrine of Christ Foundation is dedicated to guiding, educating, and supporting those who have been exposed to the teachings of the late False Prophet and Preacher, Herbert W. Armstrong. Giving a wake up call and warning to those still involved in the dozens of groups that branched off from the Worldwide Church of God. Those who are being deceived by false teachers who teach and disseminate his many false and destructive teachings that lead people away from salvation. The greatest danger today is the remaining Ambassador College trained ministry and their disciples that still teach these false doctrines that blaspheme the very words of our Lord. Falsehood that leads followers into a yoke of bondage and away from salvation. They are trained to do so, cunningly, deceitfully twisting scripture, attempting to hide their destructive theology under the label of true Christianity.

This false doctrine of Christ taught by Armstrongites is very similar to the legalistic anti-Christ doctrine the Apostle Paul battled against in the first era of the Church of God, that as Paul stated, "...cut  believers off from Christ and left them fallen from grace," cut off from salvation. This has caused confusion, anguish, and tremendous loss for the deceived adherents of Armstrongism. Philippians 3, Galatians 3,4,5, II Corinthians 11, II Corinthians 4:2-4, Romans 9:30-33, Romans 10:4 are just a sampling of scriptures in the New Testament that are actually directed at the anti-Christ teachings we battle against today as did all of the Apostles then.

We are dedicated to helping those who are coming to realize by the fruits there is something terribly wrong with Armstrongism by revealing what The True Doctrine of Christ IS. By helping to restore you to grace and faith once again, or possibly for the first time. To bring you into true communion with your savior Jesus Christ and God our Father empowered by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

The true doctrine of Christ was taught by the Apostles throughout the New Testament. The Apostle Paul wrote about his battles against the same false teaching that Armstrong taught his followers from 1934 until his death in 1986. The true doctrine of Christ as we discover in scripture is not what Herbert W. Armstrong taught but virtually the opposite.

Armstrong taught and wrote of the true Gospel of Christ continually. He wrote and taught  concepts such as Grace, Faith, Righteousness, Salvation, Love, but his actions demonstrated he did not understand these concepts at all. The doctrines of Armstrong's Radio Church of God, later the Worldwide Church of God, taught and practiced different doctrines than what the Apostles taught. those who were taught by Jesus Christ directly.

This is where most of the anguish arises. The members, like myself, who were diligent in their Bible Study, as Armstrong and his ministry instructed, would continually run across scripture that contradicted and even condemned the very religious practices that Armstrong taught and required of his members. Continual fear of expulsion and shunning  was employed to keep the members from questioning these areas. Even to this day in the United Church of God (UCGIA) and the numerous splinter groups I am familiar with that rose up after the Worldwide Church of God split in 1995 promote these same false doctrines.

There are very few new believers seeking baptism and membership into these groups in general. In particular the UCG where I attended church up until July 2010, I am now aware first hand of the doctrinal issues that are causing a total absence of growth. I spent over 40 years involved in Armstrongism until Christ opened my eyes to the errors in that church's theology. Or more correctly, that I finally admitted I had been misled and was wrong in my beliefs.

The requirement of the Armstrongite Churches like the UCG for it’s members to go back to observances of the Law of Statutes and Ordinances has cut the entire church off from Christ as Paul writes POWERFULLY in Galatians 5:1-10.  Verse 4: “...You have been estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.”

I realize many who attend Armstrongite groups now, many having grown up there as children, are now young adults and must decide based upon facts whether they stay or leave. There is confusion and many ask, “what should we be doing now to ensure we are pleasing God and are secure in our hope of salvation.

Here are the answers, simple steps Christ gave us:

1) Accept Jesus Christ as your savior through Grace, by Faith. Be baptized and you will receive the Holy Spirit as promised by Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19)

2) Realize that works of the Law can not bring righteousness in God’s eyes. Your best works are nothing to God.  Righteousness comes only through FAITH. (Philippians 3:1-9)

3) Your obedience now must be to the Commandments of Christ that He gave to his disciples, we who are Sons of God (Matthew 28:20) and Brothers of Christ who are under the New Covenant and not the Old Covenant that has been Wiped Out, Ended, The enmity against us (the Law) died with Christ.(Colossians 2:14, Romans 10:4, Ephesians 2:15,Luke 24:44)

4) The Judgment of the “Sheep” to eternal life resides in the Fulfillment of the Law of Christ. The fulfillment of the law of Christ  is; “Love your neighbor as yourself.(Matthew 22:39) “ All authority in Heaven and Earth is given to Christ (Matthew 28:18) and all judgment over those who are given to Him by the Father.  It is “His” law we will be judged by.  What you do to the least of His you do to Him. (Matt 25:32-40)

This is THE TRUE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST. The only path leading  believers to salvation by the Grace of God through our Faith in Christ Jesus. Christ taught, 29"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 "For My Yoke is easy and My burden light." (Matthew 11:29-30)

  1. The WCG never taught that one would be saved by keeping the law, and if you spent so many years in that church, you will know this fact.

So why are you stating this as fact? Were you totally asleep during all those years, or are you just a plain out liar?

You are being deceitful by using the term 'law' as you well know that this word is so genetic that one reading it, assumes, but does not know, which law you are speaking about. This is done intentionally, for you as a wolf, are acting in a cunningly devised methodology in twisting the meaning of the word.

When Christ judges in the future, your disobedience to the commandments and your teaching of lawlessness, will earn you the death penalty.

Grace will not save your sorry ass then, for that you once knew the truth, and now have rejected it.

  2. Anon,

Law, the term you call "genetic," is the Law of Moses. Those contained in the Torah, the writings contained in the Pentateuch or first five books of the Old Testament. The laws were given to Israel at Mount Sinai. I explained this concept in detail in the numerous blog articles I have labored over and offer to my readers at no charge. The word you use "genetic" I will assume is generic. Please read the article I wrote that answers your question titled "Definitions Are Important for Logical Debate." To answer your challenge, "The WCG never said one could be saved by keeping the law." My response, absurd! Herbert W. Armstrong taught that God COMMANDED that Christians observe the Feasts of Lev. 23. He also taught that the Worldwide Church of God (WCG) was the "Only True Church." He further taught that salvation was ONLY available through the WCG and through HWA as God's only true Apostle. If a member did not attend the Feasts that the WCG observed they would be disfellowshipped and loose their opportunity for salvation.
Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul both taught that Temple worship and deeds of the law did not bring righteousness in God's eyes but cut believers off from Christ and are fallen from grace.

    1. Why isn't when people like you hear someone talk about keeping the law, your mind automatically spews out things like, "we can't be saved by the law?" That is an obvious statement. However, if Christ said that he did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill, and if James said that Faith without works is dead, why do you kick against that? Law keeping can't save us because humans have been dead in their sins since birth. Also, none of us could've descended into Sheol for 3 days and 3 nights and be resurrected in order to gain the victory. There is no way to show Christ your love except by keeping the Commandments. And the commandments are just what Christ told us, but what was written in the Old Testament. The new covenant that we are under was established in Jeremiah 31:30 with the children of Israel and it simply states that the law would be written on their hearts instead of tablets of stone. The law is the same law.

    2. Matthew 11:13," For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John". Our Lord's own words. The law was a prophecy that looked forward to Messiah. Jesus was the fulfillment of all that Law.

Romans 3: 21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in[h] Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement,[i] through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

  4. Anon,

You and I share the same dilemma. Where is the true church? Seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened. I will pray that God guides you to where he wants you in this life. There are many small "micro" churches forming around the world, with small groups of believers meeting to worship and fellowship together. This is a result of the corruption in most "corporate" churches that is driving members away. This may be an option. Remember Matthew 25, by doing good works your are doing them to Christ and that is what really matters.

    1. Seems to be more than a few "Anonymous" here, so I will go as Anonymous A/D

If I might add a few thoughts with regards to the "fulfilling of the law" and the "keeping of His commandments" in Matthew 5, what "fulfilling" is Christ speaking of here, what exactly is the context? The chapter begins of with the proper attitudes, commonly known as the "B" attitudes, because we are "blessed" when we exemplify and do these things. There is no religious ritual that one is going through, it's the spiritual intent of God's Law that is being accomplished.

Christ then goes on to say that we must go beyond what the Scribes and Pharasees do, if we want to be a part of this coming kingdom. They did every physical thing down to the finest of threads, but missed the point completely, and considered themselves above all other men because of their great works. Unfortunately, they were dead in their sins.

So, when Christ says in verse 19, that "whosoever shall break the least of "these" my commandments", He is speaking of "these" commandments in the beginning verses of chapter 5, not every commanded ordinance written in the Old Covenant, which is impossible and unnecessary, to keep in the world we live in today.

Just a few more thoughts to consider.

My comment should also have reflected that the verses following Christs words of "fulfilling the law" in Matthew 5, are also representative of His commandments. It's really more about getting to the heart of the matter, rather than skimping by on outside appearances.

"Therefore, all things whatsoever you would that men should do to you, do ye even so unto them. For this is the law and the prophets." Matthew 7:12
