1975 IN PROPHECY - A BOOKLET, A FAILED PROPHECY, A FALSE PROPHET. FOURTY SIX YEARS AGO HERBERT W. ARMSTRONG PUBLISHED THIS MUST READ.

I recently re-read this booklet for the first time since I was a young teen in the Worldwide Church of God. I was around 13 or 14 years old when I read it for the first time which would have been around 1967 or 68..seven years before these horrendous events were to unfold. This single booklet effected my life more destructively that any other publication of that church. I am not alone.

I suggest if you still have doubts about attending any of the Churches that branched out from the WCG after 1995 you must read this booklet first.  Then RUN!

    Has Time Been Lost?

Yes! Definitely Yes! A lot of time has been lost on Armstrongism!

  2. I would like to point out to you that the original copyright was 1956.

You may find the proof here.

  3. And yet, on the referenced page, copyright 1976 is a totally forgotten booklet of some small worth outside the usual Armstrongist hyperbole which is easy to overlook: The Dilemma of Drugs.

You may have never seen it, but if you did, you probably don't remember it. It was apparently written by a like real Physician, dude. It is outdated and contains some of its own myths of the time, but presents a lot more balanced approach that most other Armstrongist publications from the time of the 1960s and 1970s.

  4. Right on, Mike. This is a book that anyone with a connection to Armstrongism should read. I only first read it months after I had departed my final splinter group and it opened my eyes in a big way. Sadly, there are people who will insist that Armstrong was not prophesying and that this was all just "speculation" or "guesswork" - thus plucking him from the ranks of would-be false prophets. People will justify anything that keeps them comfortable in their ignorance.

    Onward...

  5. When I was still living with my parents, 1975 in profit-cy was our bible...kinda like the new moon book is to the James Russell followers...all ten of them. :-) We wouldn't go to bed unless we read something from it, or talked about it, or discussed how we would be in Petra in the caves while Herbie and Teddy would be in Jerusalem for three and one-half years. Oh the memories!!!!

  6. 1975 in Prophecy was probably the premier book that hooked me when I was a teen as well. In the mid 60's, that seemed so far away but that's how kids think. The pictures are burned into my brain for sure. I was at AC during 68-72 etc and remember wondering if the end was so near, why am I watching this rather permanent looking Auditorium going up on campus. That should have been my first hint that it was not really a serious church/administration belief but perhaps more a hook for new members and coworkers.
